As i’ve mentioned in my previous post i will share with you some of  the natural homemade recipe for cough and cold. Now here’s the result of my research and which i’ve tried with my daughter. If you’re interested you may try any of these:

Take some eucalyptus leaves and mint leaves and boil them together in water. Now inhale its vapors. It will help you in curing your cough and is also one of the good natural remedy for cough.

In case of dry cough mix half spoon of Cuscus grass (khas khas) in 3-4 teaspoons of coconut milk. Add one teaspoon of honey and drink at night before going to bed.

Ginger Tea

* 1 inch or so fresh ginger root, sliced thin or grated
* 1/2 a fresh lemon, sliced (peel & all)
* 1 clove garlic, mashed
* ~2 c water
* Very generous spoonful honey

Place water, ginger, lemon, & garlic in saucepan; bring to boil, then turn down heat and simmer gently for 20 min. Strain into mugs and add lots of honey. The tea *will* get stronger if you let it sit! Most invigorating!

The garlic adds a bit of bitterness, but the honey masks that. This tea is very soothing to the throat and warms and opens the chest and nasal passages.

In cases of sore throat, a clove or two cardamoms or a few raisins can be chewed.Gargling with warm salty water two to three times a day is also beneficial.

The regular eating of grapes for number of days can cure simple cold and cough. They tone up the lungs and act as expectorant.

Colds can be prevented if we use disinfectants on frequently used surfaces. Also proper ventilation can prevent transmission of cold virus through air. As for me i regularly check our surrounding, i replace our linens on regular basis, our curtains, and rugs. These are the things that easily catch dirt and viruses. I’m already planning to use faux wood blinds as alternative to curtains. We find it difficult to change curtains more often since we do the laundry on our own and curtains are too heavy, they are quite difficult to wash.

So this is it, i hope you learn something from what i shared today. Thanks for dropping by.
