Nutrition and Health Care
Our church have so many plans for our youth ministry. Next month we have a sports activity where children will be given free training on taekwando, basketball, volleyball, swimming, badminton and other sports. After the training, there will be a competition where sports trophies will be awarded to all the winners.
The purpose of this activity is not just for the children to simply learn about sports and competition. It is also to create a good and strong relationship to their fellow children and to develop their personality as well. Furthermore, it is also a way for them to know more about the good benefits of sports in our health.
I’m always in front of computer monitor 10 hours a day 6 days a week. Because i spend long hours in front of the monitor i studied its impact on my health. There are rumors in the past that the radiation from computer or computer monitors can cause cancer and infertility.
After reading some articles I learned that it is true that our computer monitors and other electronic devices with screens, such as televisions and cellphones give off a clear type of radiation known as electromagnetic radiation (Emr). But even though they emit radiation, there’s no reason to be alarmed. In fact the fluorescent light bulb emits more Emr than our computer screens. So the Emr from our CRT or Lcd monitor will not adversely affect our health. They are harmless and there’s no reason to fear.
ATVs or All Terrain Vehicles are very popular nowadays, but the number of serious injuries associated with their use has also increased. Males between the ages of 20 and 34 are the most frequent victims of ATV-related deaths and the leading cause of death was the ATV rolling or flipping. Most injuries were related to speed, inexperience and alcohol consumption. Speed can be fatal when an operator loses control of the vehicle. An over-correction in steering can lead to an ATV being easily overturned.
Here are some safety tips when driving an ATV.
The size and type of ATV should be based on the person operating it because it can affect the driver’s control of the vehicle and their sense of balance. Children under the age of 16 should not operate any size of ATV because they lack the strength to control the vehicle. They also lack skill and experience to quickly judge a potentially dangerous situation.
Practice the following safety measures:
Wear an approved helmet with face and eye protection as well as other safety ATV Accessories.
Do not carry a passenger or be a passenger on an ATV built for one person only.
Take an ATV operator training course.
