Sports Performance Training For Your Youth

Why your athlete needs sports performance training

If you are reading this article, it is likely that you are a parent. You may want them to be on the team, increase their playing time, become a star, get college scholarships and even go pro. It is your responsibility as a parent to identify when your child’s performance is not up to par or if he is not playing at his full potential. You can help your child by providing sports performance training. To reach their full potential, athletes must be properly trained in sports performance. A sports performance coach helps young athletes improve their agility, speed, strength and flexibility by improving their power and speed.

What is Youth Sports Performance Training (YSPT)?

Youths receive training to excel in a specific sport. It is not just about general fitness or drills. It is centered on the skills, movements and muscle groups necessary for players to excel at their sport. For instance, does your athlete lack flexibility? It could affect their performance. Our training programs will tackle this. An athlete can be naturally powerful but not have enough power. We have programs to make the muscles contract faster and harder.

Our trainers are also skilled in helping athletes improve their speed and agility. Our coaches are experienced in helping athletes to improve their agility and speed. For swimmers, exercises will focus, for example on strengthening the muscular endurance in the shoulder.

Soccer players should focus on their lower body to increase flexibility and agility.

Our sports performance coaches at Apex Performance helped Alex, a high-school pitcher. After working with our trainer, Alex was able throw the ball up to three times faster. He also lifted fifty pounds more. His improved skills allowed him to continue playing baseball in college.

What is the difference between sports performance training and regular coaching?

A sports trainer will help your child to avoid injuries, improve their speed, agility and strength, and prevent them from occurring. The guidance of a sports trainer will help your child develop self-confidence. School coaches cannot do this because they lack the time and training. Being a traditional soccer coach is a difficult and demanding job. They must also manage equipment, schedules and parents’ assertiveness. Coaches must be flexible and adaptable to different sports, seasons and situations.

There is limited time for them to teach the basic skills of a particular sport to the entire team. Your child can play with a sports performance trainer, and not just observe others.

A sports trainer’s primary duty is to coach an athlete. The overall endurance of your athlete will improve. Your athlete will be trained to perform better in a specific sport or team position.

A race car engine is similar to an athlete. The engine will perform well right from the factory. Engineers will adjust the engine to produce 25% to 25% more horsepower. Your athlete’s sports performance trainer will boost the horsepower in the car. The coaches are responsible for “fine-tuning” the car.
